Why a movie named "A Wednesday"?

I was wondering since first time I saw adds of this movie on tv screen, strange name for a movie... even when the reviews were out last friday none of the reviewers gave an idea about the title but all the reviews gave the strong points of the movie. So wanted to see the 1st show possible & also wanted to look did they provide any justification for the title.

However was bit down with my health so could go only on Sunday.

A Wednesday JAM, Shipra Mall, 7th Sept. : When the movie begins & the credits roll on, for some time you will be amazed is it a mute movie or there is some technical fault...but there is no so fault, a unique way to start up with. The movie starts with narration of Commissioner of Police played by Anupam kher who's going to retire in few days. He starts up by sharing with the most complicated case he ever faced in his professional life which hasn't been registered in any of the police records. Its only known by few people who were involved in that case. He began's his story telling its all about an incident which happened on "A Wednesday" afternoon and lasted for about 5 hours. He receives a call at 2pm by a person (enacted by Nasserudin Shah) who tells him he has planted 5 bombs in the city and wants to talk with a person who has got power to take decisions. Here starts an interesting plot between the commissioner & CM of the state (interesting act). Commissioner is now dealing with the issue and in next call "the person" tells location about one of the bombs which is a police station opposite to police headquarters. Its sure now that its not a crank call & "the person" is really serious. "The person" keeps out his demand of release of 4 terrorists linked to different groups by 5 & then he will give the details of the location of other bombs which are going to explode at 6:30pm.

Won't tell the story from here after as it would spoil the essence of the movie. Its an fast paced movie and every minute counts here, you would be surely sitting on the edge of your seat. The movie rolls and can say that expect the unexpected. It involves terrorism, hacking, media & all.

There are two great actors who are working together after a long span of time. There is only 1 scene between the 2 but the dialogues are really superb. Nasir saab is the real BOSS of the movie & its an great performance from him. Anupam kher is also at his best & good to see him in such a kind of role after a long time. Jimmy Shergill has come of his ages & acted really well in his angry man role who's a member of ATS, he really has tremendous potential (poor chap however doesn't get roles like that). Aamir Bashir is another fine actor who has given a nice performance as an SI official (I think he's 1 of the underrated actor's, I wanna really see more of him on silver screen). Kali Prasad as terrorist is also ok & performs well in his small role. Dimple Shaw was ok but had nothing much to do as an TV Reporter.

I would strongly recommend it. Would rate it 4/5.

About the title of the movie --- You will surely get an answer about the question, can assure you that.

Its really good to see they have started making such good movies in Bollywood.
