Reviews

Hi All!!!

Hope you all are really enjoying your life. I am sorry I was not able to write from a long time as... fact is I was doing nothing but wasn't in mood for writing

But hereon I would be regular in my reviews as I have promised you all.

I have seen 3 movies in last 2 weekends, so starting in order which I saw them:

1) Bachna Ae Haesno (24th Aug, JAM,Shipra Mall, Ghaziabad) - A timepass movie.

I liked the first half as Hero was finding out a new gal every now & again & then was running away from her. While found the second half bit boring as it was more of the drama part.

The story revolves around a Guy and gals in his life travel. Story of gals began with Minisha in Europe when Ranbir is 18 years old(1996) and then moves to hot Bips when he is around 24 working for microsoft(2001) and ends with Deepika(2007) when he is very successful and a leading professional for the same company in Australia.
One thing is sure most of the guys will find some part of the movie related to them as events shown are somewhat similar. Same applies for the gals also.
Music is good and helps the movie to move forward.

Its an total time pass movie so can be watched once.
Would rate it 1.5/5

2) ROCK ON (30th Aug - JAM,Shipra Mall, Ghaziabad)- The movie really rocks!!!

Hope everybody must have seen it this weekend only. If not cmon go & watch the first show you can watch in a theater. Interesting thing I noticed here - audience was clapping for every comic part and theater bursted out into laughter and claps the moment when "Farhan" delivers some dialogs in movie and a child started crying in theater. Found it interesting as have never seen such an crowd!
I would say the movie is all about friends & your dreams. Most of the sites where I read the review it was mentioned the movie is bit slow paced but I didn't found it. You won't feel bored at any place. Music if you listen may not be so soothing but once you listen to it alongwith the movie you are really going to love it. My favourite "Tum ho toh...".

Story: Its about 4 guys played by Farhan Akhtar,Arjun Rampal, Purab kohli, Luke kenny who forms one of the greatest rock band called "Magic", but due to some circumstantial causes they split and don't want to form the band again. 10 years passes by Farhan is an rich investment banker & married to Prachi, but she senses all the time that he is not happy. Arjun Rampal still in search of what he actually is does nothing accept playing guitar while his wife Debie(dnt rembr her actual name) runs the family business. Purab is in his family business of jewelry. While Luke is still in music industry but making it for others (Surprise!Surprise...u wl find a Music Director here).

But fate has something else planned for them. They again meet back after 10 years...but what happens next? For that you should watch the movie!!!

Acting sabhi ne mast ki hain par watch out especially for Arjun Rampal, Farhan Akhtar and the
actress who has enacted Arjun Rampal wife's role (screen name - Debie). Prachi Desai, Purab Kohli & Luke Kenny are also good.

The parts which I enjoyed the most was Band's performance in Dandia Night and
climax of the movie.
P.S. - Don't forget to see the end credits of the movie.

Would rate it 4/5.

3) Phoonk (31st Aug, PVR Rivoli, CP, New Delhi) - Over hyped movie!

Some may disagree with me, but thats the first thing which struck my mind 30mins into the movie. Till date "Raat" has been the best horror flick RGV ever made and every time he makes any such kind of movie the expectation are always there that he would recreate that magic once again but I was really disappointed. However the 2nd half is much better then first half as movie picks up fast from there.

Story is about Sudeep (cheer up guys...Kannada hero! Vardhini must be really happy I suppose) who is successful in construction business and has happy family with wife, 2 kids, his mother along with maid & driver living in same house. Only problem our hero is an Atheist while his whole family is against him along with the other people around him. He finds out that his business partners are cheating him and so they kick them out. Soon after this his daughter (Ahsas Channa - she is the one to look for in this movie) starts acting strangely and strange thing starts happening in his house & construction site. He is not ready to believe in existence of GOD & DEVIL. Tries to get treated her daughter with an physician & psychiatrist bit all going in vain.
Finally he has to believe its the black magic and takes help of a guy who can help him out (Zakir did good in this role but couldn't understand why he was characterized so weired).

What I concluded was director wanted to convey there is always a thin line between everything & its one's own state which leads to any predicament.

It can be watched once if you have nothing to do. However the verdict is out & movie has been declared an hit.

Would rate it 2/5.

Hey Dipu,

I agree 1st half is taken well in regards Bachna Ae Hasino...But if they would have not taken 2nd half the way it is taken the the film would have no basis.his realization was important and yes when it comes to bollywood it has to be lil bit over the top "varna maza nahi ata".
What I observed mistakes in the film are:
1) He has absolutely no connectionw ith his parents and all of a sudden Bipasha receives a callf rom his mom which is very stupid.
2) Deepika was simply an addition to show real life love on reel :P
even her story is so undefined..after he leaves Australia the from very next da she starts writing letters to him.She changes all of a sudden??
Plus her story is wrapped up just to end the movie.

But overall it is a time pass movie.I think you should increase your rating to atleast 2.5 :p

Bachna wasnt all that boring...its a timepass romantic comedy...one thing i liked was nothin in th movie was over the top...

As for Rock On..gotta watch it this weekend..And that actress who plays Arjun Rampal's wife is Shahana Goswami..
And remember very vividly that u had dragged me out of the theatre when i wanted to watch The Dark Knight's credits!!!!

Phoonk is just what its title says it is i guess...at least from what i've heard..n i do like Sudeep cos he's the only actor of recent time from Kannada film industry who can act his part..that's what i feel..n which movie is Raat????...never heard of it...

Nice observation.
I also feel the same.
Thanks for the reviews. It will help us busy guys to decide which movies to watch or not.
Hey BTW, don't publish the stories dude, you will just ruin the fun. Instead, let people know why should they watch it and all... not the whole story, puhleez...

Keep up the nice work... :)
